Visual Inspection
Our first point would be cleaning the pipe and simply looking at each joint meticulously for any cracks or crimps that could result in rejection.
Drift Inspection
Our machine will run a drift bar through the ID of each joint to reassure that there are no crimps or scale blockage on the inside.
EMI Scan
We use an electro-magnetic inspection tool to detect any significant metal loss or pits, similar to the pipe scan on site.
Special End Area (SEA)
We utilize diameter inspection tools to ensure the threads and collars of each joint are in suitable condition and we will buff out any tool marks and scratches that could cause problems in the field. Additionally, we will perform a magnetic particle inspection which involves holding the electro-magnetic field around each end, adding magnetic particle liquid or powder to the ID of each, and using a UV light to further inspect the ends for corrosion or cracks.
Threads
We will polish the threads on each joint and utilize our thread measurement tools to ensure the threads are not damaged.
